Zerreke Fumari paced back and forth between a short distance searching for the exact center of Delozio. He almost had it; he was now circling in centimeters around a tiny pebble that almost marked exactly where he should be. The sun was setting and nearly in the perfect spot for him; it was time for his evening ritual. He sat abruptly with his legs crossed and his hands folded in a precise manner. In a moment, he closed his eyes and tiny balls of soot erupted from the ground around him making the tiniest of squeaking and scraping noises. They began to swirl around him to form a large cloud of smoke while a large pentagram etched itself into the earth he was sitting upon.

Ooc// Depending on where Danica's location is this could either be a teleportation ritual to the Veratrum for a hunting spree or just an evening cooldown for him to expel some excess energy...
I'm leaving in an hour... I'll be back a bit later tonight, but I'll be going to bed around 9pm NST since I work in the morning.

A ghostly encounter... Empty Re: A ghostly encounter...

(OOC: How about the teleportation to Veratrum?)

Danica creeped out of the grave she had occupied. It was just an empty grave that had been dug as a precaution, but it had been her home for the day. As the sun sank down, Danica stepped out of the grave and began to walk out of the cemetery and down a dirt path. The path led to a creek and a small patch of trees close to the town, the perfect place for her to reside until the moon was high over head and few people would be on the streets. Then Danica could haunt the town all she wanted, and maybe she could even trick someone tonight.

The etching of the pentagram from the dirt began to glow a dark red and it rose the iridescent light began to raise and circle around Zerreke's head. Still having his eyes closed, his hand placement changed and morphed into another part of his ritual. A grin split across his face, and in a flash of black energy, he was transferred to a new destination.

Silently, he appeared on one of the Veratrum islands, and anyone within the radius was now his prey. "A cemetery? Aw, come on. How can I hunt where everybody's already dead?" he moaned. "Stupid teleportation..." he raised his eyes to glance a small lighted shadow creeping out of the cemetery and onto a pathway. Then, he blinked and the shadow had disappeared, however, it had shown him a path that probably led to a Veratrum civilization, and suddenly, his bad mood subsided.

He briskly made his way across the cemetery to where the pathway began, managing not to upturn even the slightest bit of gravel during his walk, but he continued forward and he began to leave footprints in the damp dirt pathway. He noticed this quickly, but there wasn't much that could be done unless he wanted to waste even more energy tree-swinging. He shook his head, "Not today," and in a single moment, he thought he saw the shadow again, but this time he sensed the energy attached to it.

Danica felt a presence behind her as she walked, but she payed no attention to it. Whoever it was probably didn't see her, and if they did see her then chances are they wouldn't approach her anyways. Only a few brave (or stupid) individuals ever approached Danica, and that was the way she liked it.

The sun had hit the horizon by the time she entered the forest. Animals fled and hid at the sight of her, rightfully scared of the undead. Danica could never physically harm a living being, though, so she thought it was pointless to run from her. She was used to the isolation, though, and calmly sat by the creek to wait for the night to come.

With each passing moment the sky grew darker and Danica's form grew brighter. Soon enough she could faintly see her reflection in the water, and the reflection that stared back looked the same as it always had, never changing over the two centuries Danica had lived.

Small clouds of soot began to rise up out of the ground around Zerreke, feeding and manifesting from his energy. They swirled in a manner that kept them out of the way, but always lurking. He tread forward as lightly as possible, but his footprints were inevitable. "Damn..." he grumbled, knowing that he should be a better stalker by now, but it's not like anyone around knew him by his shoes, so there was little to worry about.

Zerreke made it to the border of the creek, and saw no reflection glittering back at him. No pale, distorted face. No dripping fangs or flaring horns, and no shaggy black hair. He was invisible to only though who could truly see him for what he was. A nothing in this world; the tiniest speck, only living to survive and nothing more. However, that's not what he'll tell himself. He'll live and die by the dark that gave him strength in this world, and that's all he'll ever need.

He gazed into the creek and across the stream was a thicket of trees, but past that he could see the blazing torches lighting the town he so desperately needed to destroy. He needed it to go up in smoke and flames; he could ravage enough death to strengthen him for the next battle against the light.

A grin split across his face, for he could already feel their terror rising within him. He burst out in a terrible laughter, satisfaction from the murder to come filling his heart, and his soot ball buddies vibrated happily, and made a sort of low buzzing noise, feeding off of his emotions, but this was short-lived as the buzzing noise started raising in pitch; a panicked sound. Like magnets the balls of soot were pulled to the left of him, attaching themselves to a figure that had been gazing in the waters reflection as well.

"Hey!" He blurted out "What's the big idea??" the manifested soot balls began to disintegrate and he could feel all the energy within them pouring into this figure. "What ..the hell?.."

Danica heard his footsteps before she even saw him. The ghost lifted her eyes from her reflection and turned towards the sound, examining her visitor for the first time. He had the tell-tale signs of a demon: curved horns, fangs with blood dripping from them, and an aura of darkness, yet he was gruesomely handsome.

She watched him as he drew closer to the water, not seeming to notice her presence. The demon seemed to be examining himself in the creek, as Danica had been doing only moments ago. He did not linger, though, as he soon began to watch the horizon and laugh. A shiver ran down Danica's spine at his quick change in demeanor, and she stared curiously at the demon, wondering what sort of terror brought him this much joy.

Danica then heard a soft buzzing noise fill the air, growing louder and louder as the demon looked around in confusion. 'How could I not of noticed those before?' The ghost thought to herself as she studied the clusters of what appeared dirt that swirled around the stranger's head. 'How strange.'

Suddenly, the clusters shot towards Danica, attaching themselves to here spiritual body. Energy seemed to pour into her as the clusters disappeared, causing her to feel more alive then she has in over two centuries. The demon seemed to be baffled at what was going on, while Danica just sat and watched in awe. "What are these creatures?" She asked as she tried to grab one, only for her hand to go right through it.

"Hey, now! Those are my only friends!" Zerreke grumbled while his little balls of soot began to disappear into this creature that became more visible with every passing burst of energy that slipped away from him and into her. "Awww..." For a moment, he hardly seemed phased that a girlish figure was now standing next to him, absorbing his friends. "Well, I guess I won't be having any more spuds this evening." He glared at her, wondering just how she managed to absorb the excess energy that always managed to flit about him.

He sighed. "I call them spodium... or Spuds for short... and you just killed them.. all. Well, damn it, there goes my good mood again." He gazed back at the town before them once more. "You should probably find somewhere else to poltergeist tonight." He accused abruptly, knowing full and well that his plans for tonight hadn't changed. "It's not... safe." He grinned widely; any thoughts about death always brought him back to a happy place.

The moon had almost risen to it's proper place in the night for him to strike with the brightest blaze upon this civilization of humanity. Yes, tonight would be a very profitable night for him indeed. He looked at her, scoffed angrily for his fallen comrades and then treed through the shallow, but steady flowing creek.

Danica couldn't tell if it was the 'spuds' or the still-rising moon that was making her more visible, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to know. "I apologize about your...friends," She continued, "But what were they doing to me?"

The ghost glanced at the demon, noticing that he wasn't listening and was instead gazing at the town that could be seen on the horizon. She listened to his words in silence, a glimmer of humor in her eyes as he warned her that the town wouldn't be safe.

Abruptly he began to leave, walking through the creek and towards the town. Danica didn't have anything else to do tonight, and this demon had captured her interest, despite the looks of distaste he gave her. She rose from the side of the creek and began to follow him silently, wondering how exactly the demon planned on destroying an entire town in one night.

Zerreke wouldn't be deterred from his single motive: Destruction. Tonight could either make him or break him, but he was made of pretty tough stuff, so there was no way that the latter was bound to happen. Midnight had approached so quickly it had seemed for all of the people of the towns had scrambled to their homes for rest, living in their own little universe was their first mistake. Never sleep because you're never safe in this world.

A tall fence stretched for several hundred yards across the border of the town, but the entryway had no door, merely an opening with two torches laid on either side of the entrance. A small layer of stone that was no match for him; all it could do was keep hidden what he would be taking tonight. He gazed into the entry way from a distance. How lucky for him that the dust covered streets were so empty. He approached the torchlight at the entryway into the town. Eyed it carefully and reached out to it as if it were a small, harmless puppy. He grasped it in his hand and in a small puff of smoke it had disappeared. He quickly repeated this process at the other side of the entry way, equally garnished with a single lit torch. His ears tuned into the noises of a couple of grunts from behind the entry way where he had yet to enter. They're must be guards...

He stepped lightly through the archway, expecting an ambush, but there had been none. Curious.

Danica paused as they reached the edge of the forest, and, not wanting to give away the demon's position by being a glowing marker, she decided to wait and let him go ahead before she entered the town. Once the demon had reached the entrance to the town, though, Danica decided it was safe for her to follow.

Instead of using the entrance like the demon she was following, Danica decided it was easier to simply pass through the town's wall. Though it looked weird, the feeling of passing through a solid object was nothing to Danica, as she didn't have the sense of touch. Despite this drawback, there were so many things Danica could do as a ghost than when she was alive. She was almost grateful for being a ghost.

When Danica entered the town she came upon the main street, which had been emptied at this hour. She calmly strolled down the it, looking for signs of the curious demon she had met earlier. Hearing noises towards the entrance where she had last seen the stranger, Danica began to make her way there.

(OOC: Gah, I'm sorry. My replies are so short compared to yours! D; But I have to go now, I'll be back on in a few hours!)

He glanced down the street, lit only by a torch every several yards. Desolation seemed to be a common theme, but a few more steps into this small village and the earth beneath him began to rumble in a supernatural manner. His heart jumped and he knew there would be a fight, but still, he smirked to himself. Riled up souls always tasted sweeter than those taken in their sleep. A sharp grin burned bright on his face, and he could already taste the anguish.

The world around him began to morph; the surface began to shift and move. Terrakinesis. Child's play. "Are you ready for me?" Zerreke spoke darkly, as if every word could shatter the spirit of any living creature. He heard heavy breathing to the left of him, and his eyes darted in that direction. In a moment, the road had begun to move over him like a wave of water about to crash against the shore, or in this case, Zerreke's entire body.

With unmatched speed, he sprinted into the wave of solid earth until he was on top of the feigned mountain. He locked eyes with the perpetrator and before he could counter his assault, Zerreke was on top of him, a hand over the human's face clenched tightly and the man's scream was barely audible over the sizzling of his skin as Zerreke singed his face beyond recognition. With the man now collapsed on the floor, he paused less than a second to celebrate his victory before moving forward through the town.
